Role Overview
BESIX Watpac is seeking an experienced Design Manager for its Queensland construction team.
The role supports delivery of a commercial project in Maroochydore through design leadership and coordination.
The position is key to achieving excellence in project delivery through strong design management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage consultants to deliver high-quality design documentation on time, on budget, and in compliance with the Project Brief.
- Lead reviews of project design for regulatory and building compliance.
- Review design for constructability with the construction team and trade subcontractors to drive delivery efficiencies.
- Participate in methodology development for project delivery.
- Maintain design quality control management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Prior experience with a principal contractor delivering large-scale design-and-construct building projects from commencement to completion.
- Ability to collaborate with external consultants to achieve the best project outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
