- Manage multi disciplinary design teams (MEP, architectural, structural, IT/network, fire safety, security)
- Develop and optimize designs focusing on power, cooling, resilience (Tier III/IV), and sustainability
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, value engineering
- Support business development through technical proposals, feasibility studies, and client presentations
- Mentor junior design staff
- Travel internationally as required for project sites and client meetings
Requirements
- 10+ years in data center design or critical infrastructure
- 3 5 years in a design leadership/management role
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred
- Strong knowledge of data center MEP systems, BIM processes, CFD modeling
- Proven track record managing large scale international projects and multi cultural teams
- Excellent client facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English

Role Overview
- We are seeking an experienced Design Manager – Data Centers to lead the technical design and delivery of complex data center projects.
- You will play a pivotal role in shaping the conceptual and detailed design phases, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end to end design process for data center projects (new builds, expansions, and retrofits).
- Manage multi disciplinary design teams (MEP, architectural, structural, IT/network, fire safety, security).
- Develop and optimize designs focusing on power, cooling (including liquid cooling & advanced technologies), resilience (Tier III/IV), and sustainability (PUE, carbon reduction, renewable integration).
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high quality technical deliverables.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, value engineering, and ensure compliance with international standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, ISO, local codes).
- Support business development through technical proposals, feasibility studies, and client presentations.
- Mentor junior design staff and promote knowledge sharing across the international team.
- Travel internationally as required for project sites and client meetings.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in data center design or critical infrastructure, with at least 3–5 years in a design leadership / management role.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent preferred. Uptime Institute, CDCP, or data center specific certifications are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of data center MEP systems, BIM processes, CFD modeling, and emerging technologies (AI driven operations, immersion/liquid cooling, etc.).
- Proven track record managing large scale international projects and multi cultural teams.
- Excellent client facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
