Design Engineer- Electrical Switchgear

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Review project single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documents.
• Assess compliance and document deviations from project specifications.
• Develop general arrangement drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and bills of materials.
• Perform busbar sizing, heat dissipation, and short-circuit calculations.
• Visit project sites as required to align designs with site conditions.
• Attend client and consultant meetings for design clarifications.
• Ensure designs meet IEC standards and local regulations.
• Prepare technical submittals, follow up on submissions, and obtain authority approvals.
• Release bills of materials for procurement and approved drawings for production.
• Support procurement with product selection and stores with incoming material inspection.
• Support panel assembly, quality-control troubleshooting, testing, FAT, and SAT activities.
• Prepare manuals, closeout documents, and training materials, and train the customer’s operations team.

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of LV system design, product selection, and IEC standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, EPLAN, ERP systems, and communication protocols.
• Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, technical, and analytical skills.
