Responsibilities

  • Optimize the flow of deliveries in our largest markets
  • Support the shipping department and operations team through maximal efficiency of processes
  • Develop and implement strategies/initiatives to control or reduce operational costs
  • Optimize the utilization of assets including facilities, vehicles, and operations equipment
  • Manage logistics cost striving to achieve lowest delivered cost of goods. Maintain and improve Logistics metrics (KPIs (Key Performance Indicators))
  • Drive operational excellence within the requirements of health and safety
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fleet budget & initiatives
  • Training, coaching and certification of store associates on various types of equipment (booms, forklifts, etc.)
  • Work closely with drivers, shippers, and all levels of management.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain, Fleet Management and/or Logistics
  • Experience in warehouse operations, business improvement processes
  • Advance computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
  • Ability to recognize logistical problems, challenges or opportunities that may arise
  • Ability to communicate and work with functional and management teams to evaluate and provide solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal, management and communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking with stakeholders from all areas of the business and at all levels of leadership
  • Results driven and oriented
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience is an asset
  • Logistics and Building supply industry knowledge is an asset
  • Familiarity with routing, dispatch and warehouse management systems is required
