Demo Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Demo Data Creation & Ingestion
• Generate synthetic demo data relevant to the prospect's industry and region using AI tools - for example, generating candidate profiles with names, locations, and job titles appropriate to a UK-based prospect versus a US- or APAC-based one.
• Ingest data into demo instances using all of Eightfold's supported ingestion methods - XML, CSV, and API - choosing the right method for the scenario.
• Build out data needs across Eightfold's core modules: Talent Acquisition (including CRM features such as campaigns and events) and Talent Management (including organizational hierarchies for line managers, employees, and HR VPs).
• Instance Configuration
• Configure demo instances to match specific customer or industry scenarios, including JSON-based configuration.
• Write scripts to transform, clean, or modify data received from or modeled after customer environments.
• Automation & Efficiency for the SC Team
• Design and build agents/tooling (via APIs, MCPs, and other integration methods) that can take a prospect name as input and automatically provision a fully configured, industry-appropriate demo instance - removing manual prep work from Solutions Consultants.
• Identify and automate repetitive steps across data generation, ingestion, and configuration to continuously reduce demo turnaround time.
• Roadmap Awareness & Instance Reliability
• Stay current with Eightfold's product roadmap and upcoming release items, proactively updating demo instances so they reflect the latest features and capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to keep demo instances reliable and feature-ready - so the SC team can consistently showcase the latest and greatest of the platform.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner regularly with Solutions Consultants to gather requirements for upcoming demos and prospect scenarios.
• Articulate the proposed technical approach or implementation method clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4-7 years of experience in building and supporting demo/sandbox environments, ideally within a SaaS or presales context.
• Hands-on experience with structured data formats and ingestion methods, specifically XML, CSV, and REST APIs.
• Strong scripting ability (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar) for data transformation, automation, and light application/database scripting.
• Working knowledge of JSON for application or instance configuration.
• Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., LLM-based tools) to generate realistic, contextually accurate synthetic data at scale.
• Solid understanding of API integration and comfort integrating with third-party or internal APIs; exposure to agentic frameworks or MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication skills - able to gather requirements from Solutions Consultants, ask clarifying questions, and clearly explain the technical approach being taken.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to independently manage multiple demo requests and shifting priorities.
• Cross-functional collaborator - comfortable tracking product roadmap and release notes, and working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to keep demo environments current and reliable.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

• Prior experience in HR technology (HCM, ATS, CRM for recruiting, or similar platforms) - not mandatory, but a strong plus.
• Experience supporting presales, solutions consulting, or customer-facing technical teams.
• Experience building internal automation tools or agents using APIs, MCPs, or workflow automation platforms.
