Database Developer

Perform advanced query tuning, indexing strategies, and plan analysis

Identify and resolve bottlenecks and slow queries

Optimize large-volume transactions and reporting performance across databases

Automate monitoring and alerting of performance issues

Manage deployments, patches, backups, restores, and upgrades of Oracle/PostgreSQL/MySQL environments

Implement high-availability and failover solutions

Ensure data security, access controls, and audit readiness

Assist with replication and data migration strategies

Work with backend developers (Dot net core & Dot net framework, Python, Java) to integrate database logic into applications

Design and consume RESTful APIs to facilitate secure data exchange

Participate in full-stack development with occasional involvement in frontend tasks (HTML/CSS/JS)

Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product Managers, and UX teams

Translate business requirements into technical specifications

Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos

Create and maintain technical documentation, ER diagrams, SOPs, and version history

Promote database best practices, naming conventions, and change control policies

Contribute to SKO’s internal knowledge base and technical wiki

Prototype and recommend cloud-native DB solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL)

Integrate with BI/reporting platforms (SSRS, Power BI, Metabase)
