Role Overview
DriveTime is seeking a skilled Data Science Intern for its Summer 2027 internship program.
Data science teams support business areas including marketing, lending, indirect lending, and warranties.
The intern will gain hands-on experience with data science technologies and the full Data Science Life Cycle.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data analysis and provide insights for business decision-making.
- Assist in developing and implementing data models, algorithms, and predictive models.
- Use statistical and machine learning techniques to extract knowledge and patterns from data.
- Help develop ways to increase data intelligence within the business.
- Present analysis results to leaders and colleagues.
Candidate Requirements
- Be a bachelor’s or master’s student graduating between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Pursue a degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related discipline.
- Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Read and write in Python and have working knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and Excel.
- Understand the Data Science Life Cycle.
- Demonstrate communication, problem-solving, curiosity, detail orientation, and adaptability.
Internship Schedule
- The internship lasts 11 weeks from May 2027 through August 2027.
- The role follows a regular onsite schedule Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
Workplace and Locations
- Internships are based at the company’s home offices in Tempe, Arizona, and Dallas, Texas.
- Relocation is not provided for the internship.
Hiring Conditions
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background and drug screening.
- The company states that sponsorship will not be provided and temporary visa holders or candidates needing future sponsorship are not eligible.
