The company works extensively with financial services and banking institutions to build secure and scalable data foundations for production AI.

The Opportunity

The company is seeking a Data Engineer with strong AWS and banking-sector experience to join its UAE engineering squad.

The role focuses on scalable Lakehouse solutions for enterprise analytics and advanced machine learning models.

The work combines big data, cloud architecture, MLOps, banking security, ACID compliance, and data governance.

What You Will Do

  • Design and optimize Lakehouse architectures using Databricks and Delta Lake on AWS.
  • Build batch and real-time ETL and ELT pipelines with PySpark, Apache Kafka, and SQL.
  • Optimize AWS services including S3, Redshift, EMR, Athena, and Glue for scale and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with data scientists and MLOps engineers on feature pipelines, MLflow, Docker, EKS, and SageMaker.
  • Implement encryption, access controls, audit trails, and data governance for banking compliance.
  • Manage Terraform Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and well-tested Python code.
  • Present technical decisions and solutions clearly to cross-functional teams and client stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

  • Hands-on data engineering experience in banking, financial services, or fintech.
  • Strong AWS data services knowledge and experience with Spark, PySpark, and Kafka.
  • Experience building Lakehouse architectures with Databricks and Delta Lake.
  • Expertise in data modeling, schema evolution, and ACID principles.
  • High proficiency in Python and SQL with Docker, Kubernetes EKS, Terraform, and Git experience.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scala experience is a plus.
  • AWS Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, or Databricks Data Engineer certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with Apache Flink or Spark Streaming is advantageous.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or Prefect is advantageous.
