About the Role

What You Will Do
- Define meaningful metrics: Partner with product, engineering, design, and commercial teams to understand their questions and translate them into measurable KPIs.
- Turn data into insight: Analyze product, engineering, delivery, and commercial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring attention.
- Build product usage analytics: Turn product telemetry and usage data into metrics and insights that help teams understand adoption, engagement, feature usage, and customer behavior.
- Communicate the story: Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, connecting data and usage patterns to product and business decisions.
- Improve and automate analytics: Validate data quality and improve recurring analytics and reporting so insights are timely, reliable, and scalable.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or relevant field.
2–4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence or a related role (including relevant academic projects and internships).
Strong understanding of statistics, probability, hypothesis testing, and data modeling.
Experience using Python for data analysis and manipulation.
Working knowledge of SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing structured data.
Strong experience visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or related tools
Understanding of data models, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT concepts.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and accuracy.
Ability to translate business questions into structured analyses and actionable insights.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across teams and time zones.
Preferred Experience
Experience working with SaaS product telemetry or usage analytics, including metrics such as active users, adoption, engagement, feature usage, and retention.
Exposure to engineering and delivery metrics such as DORA metrics, Jira, or Azure DevOps data.
Exposure to commercial analytics such as customer adoption, sales, retention, or usage data.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms or data warehouses such as AWS, Snowflake, Azure, or BigQuery.
Experience analyzing software development lifecycle (SDLC) data, including the impact of AI-enabled development tools on engineering efficiency, quality, and delivery metrics.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will have:
Helped establish consistent definitions and reporting for important product, engineering, and business metrics.
Turned product telemetry and other data into insights that influence product priorities and decisions.
Reduced manual reporting through automation and reusable analytics.
Developed a strong understanding of Esko's products and business and become a trusted analytics partner to cross-functional teams.
