Role Overview
The role requires deep, demonstrable expertise in Tableau and focuses on converting complex financial and operational data into business insights.
The primary focus is the full Tableau development lifecycle, from data preparation and dashboard development through deployment and governance.
Tableau Development
- Design, develop, and maintain executive and operational dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or Cloud.
- Use Level of Detail expressions, custom calculations, calculated fields, parameters, and action filters to solve business problems.
- Optimize Tableau workbooks and data sources for performance and fast rendering.
Data Sourcing and Preparation
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and structure data for Tableau consumption.
- Use Tableau Desktop or similar tools to build reports and visualizations.
Fintech Insight Generation
- Collaborate with Finance and Risk stakeholders to define KPIs including risk scoring, portfolio health, and revenue forecasting.
- Create story-driven visualizations that communicate financial trends and risks clearly.
Deployment and Governance
- Manage data connections and publish data sources.
- Administer Tableau Server security settings to govern access and ensure data integrity.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of focused experience, including at least 3 years dedicated to Tableau development.
- Expertise in Tableau Desktop, Server or Cloud, and Prep.
- A portfolio of complex, production-ready Tableau dashboards.
- Expert-level SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
- Ability to engage non-technical business leaders and translate their needs into accurate visual reports.
Preferred and Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with fintech, banking, or financial services data is highly preferred.
- Tableau certification is a bonus.
- Experience with Python or R for advanced statistical analysis is a bonus.
