D451 is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for the Instrumentation Construction Support group responsible for the design, development, deployment, and operation of data acquisition systems in support of both scheduled shipboard testing and custom requests from engineering to support system troubleshooting and R&D efforts for both VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class submarines. The groups’ instrumentation interfaces with a wide variety of sources all over the boat including electrical systems, mechanical systems, fluid systems, and digital data.
The successful candidate must be able to coordinate and communicate with a diverse, multi-disciplinary group.
Doing so requires the ability to understand complex problems, assign resources and provide guidance as necessary to support both design and shipyard priorities.
The individual must be able to develop people to foster both individual and team growth and success.
Strong communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to facilitate meetings and demonstrate good judgement in high pressure situations.
Occasional back shift and weekend work will be required to support the needs of the group and the shipyard.

For this supervisory position, the expectation is that the selected candidate will work primarily on-site with occasional exceptions permitted at the discretion of the department manager.
