Cyber Security Engineer I

Description & Requirements

• Monitor and analyze security alerts to identify potential threats and assist with timely escalation and response.
• Help maintain and administer core cyber security tools, including SIEM, identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Support the investigation and documentation of security events and assist with incident response activities.
• Perform vulnerability scans and assist with validating patches and security fixes.
• Help identify, document, and communicate potential security weaknesses and support remediation efforts.
• Work with infrastructure and network teams to implement secure configurations and security improvements across our environments.
• Assist with evaluating, integrating, and improving cyber security tools and processes to strengthen the team’s operational capabilities.
• Support cyber security compliance and audit readiness by maintaining accurate records, documentation, and evidence.
• Assist with security activities aligned with industry frameworks and regulations, including PCI DSS, NIST, and CCPA/CPRA.
• Participate in basic risk assessments and help with document findings.
• Partner with cyber security, I.T. infrastructure, and network teams to resolve security issues and improve system integrity.
• Stay current on emerging cyber security technologies, threats, and best practices.
• Continue developing your technical cyber security skills while contributing to projects that strengthen the organization’s security and resilience.
• Full-time, Salaried (Exempt)
• Pay Range: $89,759.00-$99,262.00 annually
• Irvine Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• Department needs may call for occasional overtime

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cyber Security, I.T. Infrastructure, or Systems Administration with exposure to security monitoring and incident handling
