CEVA Logistics is seeking an experienced Customs Operations Manager for its customs team in Liverpool.
The role oversees accurate and compliant import, export, and transit declarations while supporting service quality, operational excellence, customer experience, and customs compliance.
Schedule
- This is a Monday to Friday role.
What You Will Do
- Lead, motivate, and develop the customs team.
- Manage daily customs operations and ensure service, productivity, and quality standards are achieved.
- Ensure import, export, and transit declarations comply with HMRC and other government regulations.
- Drive quality assurance and compliance procedures across the operation.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and guide the team on updates.
- Build customer relationships, act as a key contact, and attend customer meetings when required.
- Improve processes, eliminate waste, and increase operational efficiency.
- Work with internal stakeholders on business growth, innovative solutions, and best-practice sharing.
- Lead workforce planning and capacity management.
- Own recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention activities.
- Support commercial initiatives and customer implementations.
- Promote learning, collaboration, and continuous development across the department.
What We Are Looking For
- Significant customs-operations experience and a proven record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of HMRC regulations, customs procedures, and systems such as Destin8 and CNS.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A customer-focused, resilient, adaptable, and problem-solving approach.
- Passion for compliance, continuous improvement, and team success.
