Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit customs clearance documentation for import and export shipments.
- Verify shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and permits.
- Coordinate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport companies.
- Ensure compliance with customs laws, tariffs, and trade regulations.
- Classify goods using the appropriate HS (Harmonized System) codes.
- Calculate duties, taxes, and other applicable customs charges.
- Track shipment status and resolve customs clearance issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and supporting documentation.
- Assist in customs audits and respond to requests for additional information.
- Keep up to date with changes in customs regulations and trade policies.
- Provide regular updates to customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
Requirements
- High school diploma or bachelor's degree in Logistics
- Experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping (preferred)
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy
- Basic knowledge of Arabic, with ability to read and write simple documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
