Assistant Accountant Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized **Assistant Accountant** to support our finance department with daily accounting operations.
The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, processing invoices, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, and expense reports
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Maintain and update accounting databases and filing systems
- Support payroll processing and employee reimbursements
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding financial matters
- Assist during audits by preparing required documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, TallyPrime, or SAP
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
