Role Overview
Homes for the Homeless is seeking a Culinary Program Coordinator for its Families with Children facility in the Soundview area of the Bronx.
The coordinator will support the Culinary Program by developing hospitality employer partnerships, coordinating community engagement, and creating employment pathways for participants.
About Homes for the Homeless
Homes for the Homeless operates shelters and onsite programs for families experiencing homelessness in New York City.
Its programs are intended to help families thrive during and after their shelter stay.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build employer partnerships with restaurants, hotels, catering companies, and food service employers.
- Conduct hospitality business outreach and connect employers with program leadership and the Employment Coordinator.
- Coordinate community organization relationships, offsite activities, community events, job fairs, and networking opportunities.
- Align culinary training with industry needs and coordinate logistics for open houses, graduations, workshops, and special events.
- Manage student check-in and onsite coordination during cohorts and workshop days.
- Monitor hospitality hiring trends and maintain records of partnerships, outreach, and program activities.
