Role Overview

The Credit Specialist manages customer credit activities, accounts receivable, collections, credit risk, and third-party customer financing.

The role supports healthy cash flow while minimizing credit exposure and bad debts.

The position reports to the Credit Manager or Finance Manager and is based in the UAE.

Employment

  • The position is full-time.

Credit Assessment and Approval

  • Assess customer creditworthiness using financial information, payment history, business background, and available credit information.
  • Conduct credit checks, recommend credit limits and payment terms, and monitor credit exposure.
  • Identify high-risk accounts and recommend security requirements, guarantees, deposits, or other risk controls.

Third-Party Financing

  • Coordinate customer financing arrangements with banks, leasing companies, and other financial institutions.
  • Submit financing documents and follow up on applications, approvals, documentation, and disbursements.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Finance, customers, and financing institutions to resolve issues and meet financing conditions.
  • Maintain records of financing applications, approval status, terms, disbursements, and correspondence.

Receivables and Collections

  • Monitor outstanding receivables, prepare aging reports, and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Contact customers about outstanding balances and agree payment arrangements where necessary.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve payment delays and escalate long-overdue or high-risk accounts.
  • Support recovery of disputed and overdue amounts.

Credit Control and Reporting

  • Review customer accounts for payment behavior and credit-risk changes, and recommend restrictions where appropriate.
  • Maintain credit records, approvals, correspondence, payment arrangements, and collection documentation.
  • Prepare reports on receivables, overdue balances, credit exposure, collection performance, and bad-debt risks.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end receivables reporting and reconciliation activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in credit control, credit analysis, accounts receivable, or collections is required.
  • Professional certification in credit management, accounting, or finance is an advantage.
  • Industry experience in trading, construction, heavy machinery, equipment, automotive, or B2B is preferred.
  • UAE or GCC experience and experience with corporate customers or large-value credit facilities are preferred or advantageous.

Required Skills

  • Strong credit analysis, risk assessment, negotiation, collection, communication, and numerical skills are required.
  • Candidates must be able to analyze financial statements and customer payment behavior.
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency are required.
  • ERP or accounting-system experience is preferred.
  • A UAE driving license is required.
