Responsibilities
- Review and assess credit risk across a portfolio of CIB Middle East corporate clients, including evaluation of total limit risk appetite within client groups
- Analyse new transaction proposals, incorporating assessment of transaction structure, borrower credit profile, and financial risk
- Conduct in depth analysis of financial statements, credit ratings, profitability metrics, sector guidelines, financial projections, and ESG related factors
- Participate in credit and business committees, contributing to risk decisions and portfolio discussions
- Liaise with internal and external audit functions, Internal Control, and all units involved in the admission and monitoring process
- Support internal programmes and projects across relevant business areas as required
- Interact with global markets, global lending, advisory, and transactional business lines serving global corporate clients and institutional investors
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of credit risk underwriting experience within a corporate or commercial banking environment
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field
- Familiarity with rating tools is advantageous
- Strong data analysis skills and a data driven approach to decision making
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and a client oriented mindset
- Proactive thinking and the ability to perform under tight deadlines
- Commitment to ethical standards and a culture of innovation
