Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Follow up overdue invoices by telephone, email, and letter within agreed timescales.
• Handle disputed invoices and negotiate payment within agreed terms.
• Respond to enquiries about invoicing, payments, statements of account, and errors.
• Coordinate with customer, sales, customer service, operations, finance, and management teams.
• Maintain accurate records of payment follow-up activities.
• Review customer credit situations and set receivable-balance terms and conditions.
• Follow credit and collection policies and DSV dunning procedures.
• Evaluate credit limits weekly and update approved limits.
• Submit new credit applications with supporting documents and issue credit confirmation letters.
• Review trade licenses and tax certificates and request renewals when required.
• Monitor outstanding balances, reconcile accounts, and prepare debtors ageing.
• Prepare bad-debt provisions, credit-insurance overviews, reports, and write-off or legal-action recommendations.

Qualifications and Characteristics

• At least three years of experience as a Credit Controller.
• Experience handling strategic accounts.
• Transport and logistics experience is beneficial.
• High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Teamwork and flexibility are important aspects of the role.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach.
