Lead individual multi-disciplinary commercial fit-out project cost solutions for clients in the UAE.
The role sits within the Project Management function and covers projects from initiation through completion.
Cost Planning and Estimating
- Prepare feasibility, concept, schematic, and detailed design cost plans and estimates.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and pre-tender estimates.
- Produce concept estimates for feasibility studies and business cases.
- Develop and present recommended pre-bid and pre-construction budgets and cost plans.
- Create and manage detailed cost plans aligned with project master schedules.
Contracts and Procurement
- Administer commercial contracts, including remeasurement, valuations, interim and final accounts, variations, and claims.
- Prepare tender instructions, tender appendices, contract conditions, and contract documents.
- Implement project procurement in line with corporate policies and recommend procurement strategies.
- Analyze and level bid and tender responses and present recommendations to clients.
Project Cost Control
- Manage budgets, schedules, procurement, quality, and risk throughout planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
- Create funding documents and ensure project work complies with client funding systems and policies.
- Maintain cost reports, cash-flow strategies, accruals, and cost guidance for project teams and clients.
- Reconcile estimates and change orders and advise on cost risks and mitigation strategies.
- Review invoices and requests involving allowances, contingencies, and reserves.
Value Engineering and Closeout
- Lead or support value engineering workshops and track cost savings and value targets.
- Support life cycle costing for LEED and sustainability initiatives when appropriate.
- Negotiate and settle final accounts and support project funding and accounting closeout.
- Capture project costs for CBRE benchmarking and estimating databases and tools.
Required Qualifications
- Five to eight years of relevant experience.
- Ability to lead difficult information exchanges, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate teams across multiple disciplines.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate mathematics skills for complex financial calculations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- RICS accreditation is preferred.
- Experience in staffing, selection, training, coaching, mentoring, performance measurement, appraisal, rewards, and retention is preferred.
