Overview
Reporting to the New Build Cost Estimating Manager, the cost analyst is responsible for executing cost estimating and analysis activities for new project bids and feasibility studies.
The Cost Estimating team provides expertise in services that include estimating, cost engineering, economic/investment modelling and cost benefit analysis.
The team defines, analyzes and verifies all input data, compiles data within standard cost models according to the work breakdown structure and ensures all estimating methods and practices conform to the established procedures and recommended practices.
Your Role
General duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare capital cost estimates for new project opportunities as identified in Request for Proposals (RFPs), change orders on existing projects, and feasibility studies, including estimation of engineering, equipment, construction, project management, and indirect project costs.
- Work with members of the proposal team, including leads from Marketing and Business Development, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Risk, and Commercial, to define and gather the technical inputs required for the preparation of detailed, full scope cost estimates.
- Review and assess RFPs, contract documents and client agreements to ensure estimates are aligned with the scope of work, work breakdown structure, and terms and conditions.
- Assist with maintenance and troubleshoot estimate templates and cost models.
