About the Position
The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is recruiting a part-time Cook II for its Food and Beverage department during the summer.
The position produces and cooks food, provides operational kitchen support, and helps ensure positive experiences for members and guests.
Food Production
- Clean, peel, cut, and cook meats, fish, vegetables, and starches.
- Prepare and store soups and sauces, and adjust seasoning after heating and tasting.
- Maintain mise en place and leave a prep list for the next shift.
- Operate kitchen stations and prepare products according to specifications.
- Work across à la carte, banquet, and pastry kitchens.
- Follow recipes and kitchen standards.
- Use FIFO methods for food storage and product rotation.
Inspection and Coordination
- Coordinate production activities with other departments.
- Check refrigerators, record supply needs, and participate in requisitioning, receiving, and storage.
- Prepare banquet food to quality, quantity, taste, and presentation standards.
- Monitor food quality, rotation, storage, utilization, stock levels, and consistency.
- Assist with food cost control and report deficiencies to kitchen management.
