Cook II position in the Food and Beverage & Culinary department at Aloft Hotels in Dubai.
The position is full time, non-management, and not remote.
Food Preparation and Cooking
- Prepare ingredients through portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, measuring, mixing, and proper storage.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Test food for proper cooking and monitor food quality during preparation.
Kitchen Operations
- Set up and clean the work area and portion food into appropriate containers.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
- Verify that equipment and food temperatures are appropriate.
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by a supervisor.
Safety and Teamwork
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to a manager.
- Maintain professional communication, protect confidential information and company assets, and support team goals.
- Remain standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is listed as a preferred qualification.
- At least one year of related work experience is listed as a preferred qualification.
- No supervisory experience is required.
- No license or certification is required.
