Position Summary
Prepare special meals or substitute items and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
Monitor food quality and quantity, maintain food logs, and prepare cold foods.
Support kitchen and service teams during busy periods and communicate menu specials or unavailable items.
Food Preparation and Service
- Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Pull frozen food from storage and thaw it in the refrigerator.
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food garnish.
- Inform the chef of excess food items for daily specials.
- Inform Food and Beverage service staff about menu specials and out-of-stock menu items.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
Work Standards and Physical Demands
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
