Position Summary

Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.

Monitor food quality and quantity and ensure portions, presentation, and garnishes are properly prepared.

Prepare special meals, substitute dishes, and cold food items.

Food Preparation

  • Regulate the temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasting ovens.
  • Thaw stored food in the refrigerator and maintain food logs.
  • Indicate when assistance is needed during busy periods.
  • Inform the chef about excess food and food and beverage staff about removed items and menu specials.

Team and Guest Support

  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, motivation, and coaching of employees.
  • Anticipate and address guest service needs and communicate clearly and courteously.
  • Develop positive working relationships and support team goals.

Safety and Physical Requirements

  • Follow company safety policies and procedures, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance, protect confidential information, and protect company assets.
  • Stand, sit, or move for extended periods and reach overhead and below the knees.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree preferred.
  • At least three years of related work experience preferred.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No license or certification specified.

Schedule

  • Full-time schedule.
