Osaro seeks a Controls Engineer for PLC Programming to develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled robotic automation systems.
The role involves programming PLCs, integrating control devices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation, with expertise in major PLC platforms and hardware integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy robust PLC code for ML-enabled robotic automation systems across multiple concurrent projects.
- Integrate PLCs with off-the-shelf control devices (I/O couplers, sensors, safety controllers, etc.) and proprietary machine-learning software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-develop, commission, and deploy robotic cells.
- Write detailed technical specifications and documentation for control logic and software architecture.
- Design, develop, and deploy intuitive Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to provide operators with seamless control, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities for the robotic workcells.
- Program and validate safety logic and safety PLCs to ensure the robotic workcells meet all industrial machine safety standards and fail-safe requirements.
- Debug and characterize PLC programs for complex electromechanical systems.
- Support internal engineering teams by diagnosing control systems to ensure equipment is operational for both development and live demos.
