Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions
- Lead pediatric resuscitation efforts including advanced airway management, vascular access, and life saving interventions
- Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, splinting, wound repair, and procedural sedation
- Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, and other emergency physicians
- Contribute to strategic development of pediatric emergency services and develop clinical pathways and quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff
- Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly to families and promote a child friendly environment
- Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in clinical research, case presentations, and CME programs
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution
- Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization
- Minimum 8–10 years of post specialization experience, including consultant level practice
- Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma, and acute care
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage

Position Overview
- A leading tertiary care hospital in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join its Pediatric Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Expertise
- Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions
- Lead pediatric resuscitation efforts including advanced airway management, vascular access, and life saving interventions
- Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction and splinting, wound repair, and procedural sedation
- Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, intensivists, and other emergency physicians
- Ensure safe and efficient patient flow within the Pediatric Emergency Department
Leadership & Departmental Development
- Contribute to the strategic development of pediatric emergency services
- Develop and update clinical pathways, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, audits, and clinical governance activities
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff
Family & Patient Engagement
- Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow up instructions clearly and compassionately to families
- Promote a child friendly, culturally sensitive environment
- Support families during high stress situations and critical decision making
Academic & Research Contributions
- Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in clinical research, case presentations, and CME programs
- Represent the department in conferences and community health initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution
- Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics with PEM fellowship, or Emergency Medicine with pediatric specialization (e.g., American Board, Royal College, Arab Board, or equivalent)
- Minimum 8–10 years of post specialization experience, including consultant level practice
- Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma, and acute care
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
