Overview

A Consultant Cardiologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases related to the cardiovascular system.

The role involves managing complex cardiac conditions, leading patient care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hypertension
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests (ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, Holter monitoring)
  • Conduct invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures (depending on subspecialty)
  • Develop individualized treatment and management plans
  • Provide emergency cardiac care when required
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and medical staff
  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with healthcare regulations
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education
  • Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare standards and hospital policies

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate specialization in Cardiology (MD, DM, or equivalent)
  • Board certification (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, European Board, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Cardiologist (with experience at consultant level preferred)
  • Expertise in advanced cardiac procedures (preferred based on role)
  • Strong clinical decision-making and leadership skills
