Job Overview

  • The Consultant Anatomical Pathologist is responsible for the diagnosis and interpretation of tissue, cellular, and organ specimens through gross and microscopic examination.
  • The role involves providing accurate pathological diagnoses, supporting clinical decision making, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and ensuring compliance with international quality and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • MD/DNB/FRCPath/Arab Board/American Board or equivalent in Anatomical Pathology/Histopathology
  • Minimum 10 years of post specialization experience in a recognized hospital or diagnostic Centre
  • Expertise in surgical pathology, histopathology reporting, frozen sections, and immunohistochemistry (IHC)
  • Experience in oncologic pathology and multidisciplinary team discussions preferred
  • Valid DHA/DOH/MOHAP/SHA Consultant License or eligibility for UAE licensing

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpretation and reporting of surgical pathology and biopsy specimens
  • Frozen section consultations and intraoperative support
  • Correlation of pathological findings with clinical and radiological data
  • Participation in MDT meetings and tumor boards
  • Ensuring compliance with CAP/JCI/ISO quality standards
