About the Role
Brunel is seeking a Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) for an oil & gas project in Doha, Qatar. The role involves supervising EPIC contractor's static and rotating equipment installation, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and leading mechanical completion inspections.

Responsibilities
- Liaise with HSE Supervisor on safety matters and act as a safety leader
- Supervise all EPIC contractor's Static & Rotating equipment inspection & installation activities
- Attend Requests For Inspections (RFIs) as per approved ITPs and sign off inspection reports
- Lead construction contractor(s) on all mechanical aspects of Static and Rotating Equipment installation works
- Manage and lead final mechanical completion inspections and punch closing
- Supervise pre commissioning activities to ensure safety and quality
- Coordinate mobilization of contractors on site and carry out daily checks
- Maintain daily record of progress and report anomalies to Sr Supervisor
- Sign work permits on behalf of Company and ensure contractor compliance
- Participate in development of as built drawings/documentation
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized University
- Minimum of 10 years overall experience in static and rotating equipment installation
- Experience as an EPIC Contractor supervisor is essential
- Current experience in State of Qatar industrial cities and/or other GCC countries is required
- Extensive knowledge of international codes & standards (ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, NFPA, SHELL DEP's)
- Extensive experience in coating systems and procedures
- Mechanical inspector certificates (API 510 & API 653) would be an advantage
- Formal training in QA/QC functional aspects preferred

Responsibilities
- Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety related matters. Act as a safety leader.
- Assist functional supervisor in review and / or approval of Construction documentation, including Method Statements, JHAs, MARs etc., and attend HSE Walkthroughs.
- Supervise all EPIC contractor's Static & Rotating equipment inspection & installation activities based on approved engineering documentation and project schedule.
- Attend Requests For Inspections (RFIs) as per approved ITPs including Material Receiving Inspections.
- Lead the construction contractor(s) on all mechanical aspects of the Static and Rotating Equipment installation works.
- Manage and lead final mechanical completion inspections and punch closing.
- Supervise the pre Com activities to ensure safety and the quality of the completed work.
- Lead the inspection activity with Vendor/Supplier at Site whenever required.
- Co ordinate mobilization of contractors on site.
- Carryout daily checks on contractor's staff and work carried out during the previous day.
- Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments.
- Reports to Sr Supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations.
Qualifications
- Candidate Must possess a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized University.
- Preferably having formal training in QA/QC functional aspects.
- Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years overall experience in static and rotating equipment installation, including inspection coordination experience in the construction of midstream/downstream Oil & Gas facilities.
- Experience as an EPIC Contractor supervisor is essential. Experience as a Client or PMC supervisor is preferred.
- Current experience in State of Qatar industrial cities and/or other GCC countries is required.
- Extensive knowledge of international and industry specific codes & standards, including ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, NFPA, SHELL DEP's, etc.
- Mechanical inspector certificates (API 510 & API 653) would be an advantage.
- Extensive experience in coating systems and procedures, incl painting, galvanizing, wrapping, insulation, Refractory Lining etc. BGAS / API certification would be an advantage.
- Extensive experience in Static and Rotating Equipment Installation, FAT, Alignment, Inspection, punch list clearing, pressure testing, pre commissioning and mechanical completion inspections, etc.
- The candidate shall have specific stated experiences in; Greenfield/new build construction sites.
