Role Description
The Construction Director is responsible for overseeing construction initiatives from planning through execution in a part-time remote role.
The role coordinates project scopes, schedules, and resources with internal teams, external partners, and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Review design and engineering proposals and monitor construction progress.
- Manage project risks and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Provide strategic guidance on construction methodologies and support procurement decisions.
- Prepare regular reports on timelines, costs, and overall project performance.
Qualifications
- Strong budgeting and cost management skills are required to plan, monitor, and optimize project financial performance.
- Experience in procurement and vendor management, including supplier and contractor selection, negotiation, and evaluation, is required.
- A solid background in construction project oversight and practical knowledge of site operations and industry standards are required.
- Academic or professional experience in civil engineering is required, including the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and structural requirements.
- Proven project management abilities in scheduling, risk management, and cross-functional coordination are required.
