About the Role

- Develop and maintain Configuration Management policies, procedures, work instructions, and governance frameworks
- Establish, control, and maintain product baselines throughout development, production, delivery, and in service support
- Lead Configuration Control Boards and Change Review Boards, ensuring decisions are documented, approved, implemented, and traceable
- Control product structures, part numbering, revisions, lifecycle states, effectivities, and release processes
- Ensure alignment between requirements, CAD data, drawings, specifications, E BOMs, M BOMs, software, and supporting documentation
- Manage Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Notices from initiation through review, approval, implementation, and closure
- Coordinate configuration changes across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Programme teams
- Govern Windchill or Teamcenter workflows, product structures, CAD documents, lifecycle states, and release processes
- Ensure accurate transfer and synchronization of released engineering data between PLM and SAP, including part masters, BOMs, revisions, and effectivities
- Manage E BOM governance and transformation into M BOM structures, supporting production readiness and first article activities
- Maintain Configuration Status Accounting records and provide accurate configuration reporting
- Plan and conduct Functional and Physical Configuration Audits, ensuring corrective actions are closed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Configuration Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of Configuration Management experience within Aerospace, Defence, or another highly regulated industry
- Minimum 5 years of leadership or management experience
- Strong practical experience with Windchill or Teamcenter, SAP ERP, ECR/ECN processes, Configuration Status Accounting, E BOM and M BOM management, PLM, document control, and engineering drawing control

- The Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving Configuration Management processes across the product lifecycle.
- The role ensures the integrity, traceability, control, and auditability of product data, including requirements, CAD models, drawings, specifications, software, Bills of Materials, and technical documentation.
- The position acts as the configuration governance focal point across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Programme Management, ensuring compliance with contractual, customer, regulatory, and quality requirements within a highly regulated Aerospace and Defence environment.
