- Define and capitalize methodologies to design and validate HPC/LPC modules
- Design and optimize turbofan components, modules and sub systems for life, weight, manufacturability and cost
- Carry out thermo mechanical and dynamic simulations at design, off design and far off design conditions
- Carry out creep, LCF/HCF and fracture assessments
- Carry out FMECA to support safety and operability assessments
- Support management of knowledge
- Review designs, simulations and generate testing guidelines; support test analysis and correlations
- Verify design approach and results from suppliers or partners
- Work closely with Test Team, Product Managers and Systems Engineers
- Identify project risks and plan for mitigation
Requirements
- Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree or related field
- Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, integrity and/or heat transfer
- 8+ years of experience for senior roles
- Proficient in design packages such as Solidworks, Siemens NX or similar
- Experience in FEA using Ansys, Nastran or equivalent
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks and delegate

Position Summary
- Turbofan Compressor Mechanical Engineer responsible for stress & dynamic/thermomechanical analysis of turbofan compressors and other structures within turbofan development programs.
- Requires expert knowledge in mechanical design, integrity, gas turbine propulsion, Front Frame/IGV/Booster/LPC/HPC.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and capitalize methodologies to design and validate HPC/LPC modules.
- Design and optimize turbofan components, modules and sub systems for life, weight, manufacturability and cost.
- Carry out thermo mechanical and dynamic simulations at design, off design and far off design conditions to ensure safety and operability.
- Carry out creep, LCF/HCF and fracture assessments.

- Support the management of knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience
- Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree or a related field.
- Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, integrity and/or heat transfer.
- Experience in whole engine structural analysis, clearance assessments is a plus.
- Experience in compressor and turbine modules.
- Fluent in English, 8+ years or more for senior roles.
Skills
- Proficient in one of design packages such as Solidworks, Siemens NX or similar.
- Experience in FEA using Ansys, Nastran or equivalent, or lower order simulation methods.
- Awareness on state of the art technologies in materials and structural mechanics.
- Good communication and presentation skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
