The Role

  • Motel’s Compliance Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to legislation, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies and procedures.
  • Act as trusted advisor and helpful challenger to promote best practice.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring Motel maintains compliance with relevant standards and regulations, monitoring risk trends.
  • Monitoring changes in the law and disseminating training where appropriate.
  • Reviewing policies and procedures to ensure ethical and compliant operations.
  • Leading on ESG reporting, SECR, CSRD, and ESRS.
  • Ensuring compliance for compulsory Digital Product Passports.
  • Driving progress under BCorp’s governance pillar.
  • Examining and improving internal audit processes.
  • Completing regular internal auditing and assessing compliance procedures.
  • Maintaining and embedding a robust Risk Management Framework.
  • Coordinating and managing recording, analysis, and reporting of incidents or internal breaches.
  • Researching emerging rules and guiding implementation.
  • Hosting meetings with employees on ethical and compliance matters.

About you

  • Proven experience in a similar role within compliance function.
  • Significant knowledge in governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of global regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, UK Corporate Governance Code, ISO 27001).
  • Ability to effectively organise and manage own workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders and global teams.
  • Analytical skills essential.
  • Strong communication skills in written, presentation, and oral mediums.
  • Influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Drive to expand knowledge in additional areas of regulatory compliance.
  • Forward thinking mindset capable of making sound decisions and prioritizing tasks.
