Job Overview
The Community Manager serves as the team coach, culture ambassador, and business strategist for an apartment community.
The role oversees community operations, financial performance, leasing success, vendor partnerships, resident satisfaction, team development, and daily support.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least two years of property management experience, including Leasing Consultant and Assistant Community Manager experience.
- Six months of multifamily community manager experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with Yardi, Knock, and Microsoft software is highly preferred.
Licenses and Work Requirements
- A valid driver's license is required.
- CAM, CAPS, real estate, or property management license is preferred.
- Evening and weekend availability may be required for resident events or community needs.
- The leasing office operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with one weekday off for a 40-hour schedule.
Financial and Property Operations
- Manage budgets, rent collection, community financial reporting, move-outs, deposit accounting, and delinquency tracking.
- Maintain accurate records using platforms such as Yardi and Knock.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Conduct inspections, maintain curb appeal, and coordinate work orders, preventative care, and vendor services.
Team and Resident Leadership
- Hire, train, coach, and support team members while leading weekly team meetings.
- Address escalated resident concerns and plan engaging resident events.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews and maintain communication with leadership and ownership groups.
Leasing and Engagement
- Conduct tours, respond to leads, identify prospect needs, and guide prospects through the leasing process.
- Complete lease applications, renewals, and related documents accurately and on time.
- Create and manage community social media content and maintain clean, welcoming offices, amenities, and common areas.
- Meet occupancy goals through strong leasing performance and resident retention.

Compensation and Benefits
- Community Managers are eligible for monthly leasing and renewal commissions and quarterly performance bonuses in addition to salary.
