As Commodity Manager – CFM56 Engine Components, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing FTAI Aviation’s global material strategy for a portfolio of CFM56 engine components across our MRE and Module Factory programs. This highly visible role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and key global suppliers to ensure material availability, cost competitiveness, and supply chain resilience across North America and Europe.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Supply Chain, you will lead end‑to‑end commodity strategy, from demand planning and sourcing to supplier development, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation, while directly influencing cost, availability, and operational performance across the business.
Location: Montreal, Quebec
FTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on CFM56 and V2500 engines. FTAI’s propriety portfolio of products, including the Module Factory and a joint venture to manufacture engine PMA, enables it to provide cost savings and flexibility to our airline, lessor, and maintenance, repair, and operations customer base. Additionally, FTAI owns and leases jet aircraft which often facilitates the acquisition of engines at attractive prices. Develop, own, and execute comprehensive commodity management strategies aligned with business objectives, including material availability, cost reduction, and price‑increase mitigation
Lead the creation and execution of commodity playbooks, including sourcing strategies, supplier development plans, and long‑term supply models
Monitor macroeconomic, geopolitical, and industry trends to proactively adjust strategies and minimize total material cost while ensuring capacity and quality
Partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams using advanced Demand Planning tools (Palantir) to assess demand, balance constraints, and optimize material flow
Collaborate with Distribution, Procurement, and Repair Management to reallocate inventory and adjust commodity plans in response to changing demand
Ensure data integrity and governance of commodity and supply chain parameters within planning systems
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commodities and key suppliers
Lead and support RFQs, perform detailed bid analyses, build robust business cases, and conduct complex commercial negotiations
Manage supplier agreements, ensure compliance, and drive measurable improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and reliability
Build strong, collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers to enable innovation, continuous improvement, and long‑term alignment
Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Asset Management, Program Management, and Operational Supply Chain to support new program introductions and supplier strategies
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, lead recovery plans, and support critical material challenges
Drive or contribute to high‑impact special projects with suppliers and internal teams
Participate in global sourcing initiatives, sharing best practices across commodities and regions
