Position Summary
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
Prepare special meals, substitute items, and cold foods while maintaining food quality and appropriate portions.
Kitchen Responsibilities
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Thaw frozen food in refrigerators and maintain food logs.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
- Communicate assistance needs during busy periods.
- Inform the Chef about excess food for daily specials and notify service staff about menu specials and unavailable items.
Service and Team Support
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of employees.
- Develop positive working relationships and support the team in reaching common goals.
- Anticipate and address guest service needs and communicate clearly and professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
