Role Overview
The employer is seeking a motivated and dedicated Commis Chef to join the kitchen team.
The role supports chefs with food preparation, hygiene, food safety, and daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with daily food preparation and cooking activities.
- Prepare vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood, sauces, and other food items.
- Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain clean and hygienic workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Follow food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Store and label food items properly.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and expiry dates.
- Assist with receiving and organizing kitchen supplies when required.
- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and Chef or Supervisor instructions.
Requirements
- Previous Commis Chef or similar kitchen experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
