Pricing&Market Analysis
- Buildandupdategasoilandfreightforwardcurves.DecomposeMtMPnLintoflatpriceandspreads.Monitortime spreads, location differentials, and freight rate movements; flag trading opportunities to desk head
- FFAmarketmonitoring:trackBalticroutes,FFAsettlementprices,andpapervs.physicalfreight economics
- Providemarketintelligencereportsanddecisionsupporttothedeskheadonadaily/weekly basis
Pnlreview&Trade Allocation
- Trade allocation: allocate trades across books and legal entities; reconcile positions between front-office and risk systems
- Monitorallcosts(demurrage,Q&Q,logistics)andensureaccuratereflectioninthetrading P&L
- EnsureastrongcontrolframeworkbymaintainingalloperationalactivitiesintheRisk System
Modelbuilding& Operations
- Buildanalyticalmodelsindependently:pricingtools,scenarioanalysis,positionmonitors,break-evencalculators– using Excel, Python, and AI assistants as force multipliers
- Internaldataintegration:connectinternaldatasetstoproduceactionabledashboardsfordeskand management
- Actasabackuptotheoperationsteam;handledocumentation&invoices;managequalityandquantityissuesfrom physical operations and other duties as requested or assigned
Educational Qualification And Experience
- Bachelor’sdegreeinFinance,Economics,Mathematics,Engineering,orrelatedquantitative field
- 1–3yearspost-graduationexperience–ideallyinacommoditytradinghouse,bankcommoditydesk,shipping company, or brokerage with demonstrable exposure to energy or freight markets
- FinancialliteracywiththeabilitytouseAItoolstoacceleratemodelbuilding,dataanalysisandreport generation
- Possessastrongworkethicandbeabletolearnquicklyinafastpaced,high-pressure environment
- Maintaincomposureandcommunicateclearlywhenunder pressure
- Abilitytosucceedworkingaspartofasmall,high-output team
- Advancedaptitudeforproblemsolvingand multitasking
- Secondlanguage(French,Arabic, RussianorMandarina plus)
