- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards. Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Must have previous setup experience
- Must have G code programming experience
- Operating a boring mill a plus
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
- Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
- Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work with limited supervision.
- Ability to explain how and why specific conclusions were reached.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands
