Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines by installing and aligning cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications
- Load and verify CNC programs, adjust machine settings, and perform test runs
- Operate CNC and Manual machines to machine components accurately and efficiently
- Develop and modify CNC programs using MasterCam based on engineering drawings
- Optimize machining parameters to improve cycle time, part quality, and machine efficiency
- Perform tooling and fixture design or modifications to enhance machining processes
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on CNC machines
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality

General Function
- The CNC Technician/Machinist is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. He plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate production of machined components by programming, monitoring, and optimizing CNC opera
Duties
- Machine use (CNC Mill, EDM Sink, EDM WireCut) and can run all machines in CNC workshop department
- Set up CNC machines by installing and aligning cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications and work orders.
- Load and verify CNC programs, adjust machine settings, and perform test runs to ensure proper machine functionality and part quality.
- Operate CNC and Manual machines to machine components accurately and efficiently, monitoring the process to detect any abnormalities or malfunctions.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software (MasterCam), based on engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
- Optimize machining parameters such as cutting speeds, feeds, and tool paths to improve cycle time, part quality, and machine efficiency.
- Perform tooling and fixture design or modifications to enhance machining processes and minimize setup times.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machine components.
- Fill Servicing checklist of the CNC machine and update the machine PM Plan Sheet.
- Implement & follows the improvements in safety, monitor the efficiency and maintain good work practices.
- Follow rendering of overtime as needed to finish certain task.
General Duties
- Attend daily briefing upon called by the SUPERVISOR
- Machine Setup: Prepare and set up machine tools, such as CNC milling machines, EDM wirecut, EDM sink, and all machine in CNC workshop department for production runs according to specifications.
- Operation: Operate machine tools to perform machining operations, such as cutting, drilling, shaping, or grinding, to produce components or parts.
- Inspection: Inspect before finished or as needed, parts to ensure they meet the required dimensions, tolerances, and quality using precision measuring instruments.
- Tooling and Tool Maintenance: Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling for each job, and perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Material Handling: Handle and move materials, such as metal stock or workpieces, using cranes, hoists, or other material handling equipment as needed.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools, materials, and equipment.
Job Specification
- Ability to identify and read the mould drawing.
- Know how to identify the tooling.
- Know how to identify the mould basic parts.
- Know how to identify the types of plastics, their properties and method of manufacture.
- Knowledge about CNC machines.
- Know how to identify the molding parts arrangements and Problem Solving.
- CAM Software Proficiency: Proficient in computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, such as MasterCam.
Education
- Diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications or vocational training in CNC machining in machine shop equipment, CNC machine tools, and state of the art programming techniques.
Training
- 5 years of CNC programming at the machine and Manual machine to operating.
- Know to read the mould drawing.
- 3 years of CNC programming at the machine to operating.
- Attended Manual Lathe basic training course.
- Attended Manual Mill basic training course.
- Computer literate MS OFFICE : SolidWorks / MasterCam / WORD / EXCEL.
General skills and attributes
- Knowledge workshop CNC or manual machine setup, operation, and maintenance procedures.
- Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Must also be able to work effectively, communicates with others and be willing to work as part of the team.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments like (caliper, micrometer) to perform dimensional inspections.
- Knowledge about AutoCad (SolidWorks) and CadCam (MasterCam).
- Able to Comply to Company and Health and Safety SOP's and work instruction
