The Cluster Sales Manager implements sales activities and maximizes business opportunities for the assigned area under the Director of Sales and Marketing.
The role focuses on corporate and long-stay segments and supports revenue growth across rooms, meetings, catering, and food and beverage.
Planning and Organizing
- Develop an achievable personal business plan with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Maintain complete records of sales agreements, contracts, and quotations according to hotel policies and procedures.
- Track contribution margins and work with department heads to maximize operating results.
- Achieve targets for new active accounts, room nights, banquet covers, and revenue.
- Submit a weekly entertainment schedule for approval.
- Plan sales trips and attend approved trade shows and exhibitions.
- Arrange hotel site inspections, lunches, and dinners.
- Attend corporate functions and promotional events to promote hotel rooms, catering, and other services.
- Coordinate with international sales offices on accounts and markets when applicable.
- Apply selling strategies during negotiations and maximize upselling opportunities.
Sales Operations
- Maintain a sales-call pattern averaging 25 calls per week.
- Conduct at least two account entertainment activities per week.
- Maintain account histories for assigned market segments.
- Execute sales objectives and action plans to meet or exceed targets.
- Solicit and service corporate and group business.
- Quote and negotiate corporate contracts and group business within established parameters.
- Attend major hotel and city events as requested by the department head.
- Monitor revenue and business production for the corporate portfolio and assigned sales executives.
- Maintain major-account files and assist with the account management system.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, marketing, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive hospitality sales experience in Dubai, UAE, including 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven record of achieving and exceeding hotel-sector revenue and sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of hotel sales, corporate accounts, travel trade, MICE, and government segments.
- Experience managing sales activities across multiple properties is preferred.
- Strong revenue management, market analysis, strategic planning, negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of corporate and long-stay hotel sales.
- Experience with hotel PMS and sales and catering systems such as Opera Cloud, Anis, Cvent, Passk, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to prepare event proposals, contracts, budgets, and forecasts.
