What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Sr.
Manager – Wire Payments Processing Nightshift.
T his position provides key business related knowledge and support to critical Payments Operations.
Participates in unison with team members in the processing of Continuous Linked Settlement [CLS] Help Desk functions and queues associated to the timely release of Time Sensitive Payments.
Provides support to clients, service partners, correspondent banks and RBFG personnel as it relates to processing of payments received by Payment Services via all communication channels i.e.
SWIFT, TELEX, RAFT$, EFT/RBC Express, LVTS, RFT and Intellitracs.
What will you do?
• Responsible for Wire Payment and CLS processing, by providing significant level of service and support to an international/domestic client base of Strategic/Relationship/Core/Global Financial Institutions Banks by consistently meeting Service Delivery Standards, within established Service Level Agreement.
• Ability to independently resolve high risk/high impact situations ensuring business decisions including critical/contingency situations are made on behalf of RBFG and escalate to appropriate parties
• Ensures payments are processed in accordance with CPA, LVTS, SWIFT and Banking Arrangement guidelines to minimize interest claims and potential losses to the Bank
• Mitigates Operational/Transactional risk through proactive measures i.e. being aware of various cut-off times, accurate processing and verification of payments
• Participates in the execution of regular Business Continuity testing [i.e. LVTS, DRP, SWIFT, etc] with Bank of Canada, CLS Bank and the Canadian Payments Association as required.
• Enhances and maintains operational manuals, process maps, & system documentation as part of continuous learning philosophy
• Continuously improve skills and enhance individual performance and adaptability through self-development plans i.e. coaching, PLN, cross-training, job shadows etc.
• Promotes an environment of open, two-way communication, fostering group identity, diversity and teamwork by leading through example
• On an ongoing basis adheres to Internal Audit and MICR requirements
• Monitors FIRCO-SLA Sanctions queues and actions items as required

Must Have
- 1 + years of experience in processing payments or payment operations
- Work Shift - Nightshift from Sunday night 11pm to Thu night/Friday 7am
- Have hands on experience working in payments using SWIFT, or LYNX application
- Determining needs and suggesting solutions for administrative improvements in procedures, processes or systems to support other functions.
- To collect and analyze information.
- Developing appropriate project management procedures and tools for all major activities; assisting members of the organization in the use of project management methods and tools.
- Identifying needs and suggesting to support unusual or new business requirements.
