Job Purpose br>
This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of a competency-based continuing education program that supports the nurses in all specialty areas towards improvement in clinical practice.
Assesses and identifies educational needs and develops educational programs accordingly br>
Performs consistent, systematic evaluation of clinically based programs to determine if they meet staff needs and are responsive to department/organizational direction br>
Formulates measurable performance criteria to assess nurses levels of competence br>
Collaborates with nursing staff and other disciplines in the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs br>
Demonstrates skill in adult education, group dynamics, curriculum development, communication, and teaching strategies br>
Assists nursing staff to integrate new knowledge and skill into their practice and ensures that competency is maintained br>
Provides specialty-specific orientation to relevant staff and participates in the organization s orientation programs as required br>
Provides bedside clinical consultations in the area of expertise/specialization. br>
Leads the implementation of evidence-based practice and actively participates in research to promote clinical knowledge and a research-based clinical practice environment br>
Engages in health promotion activities in the organization and community br>
Manages information technology to access, transmit and produce information as necessary br>
Utilizes information gained from program evaluation to determine future program directions br>

Corresponding Activities performed by the role br>
Complying with Policies, Procedures, and Practices of the SSMC facilities and other regulatory requirements br>
Complying consistently with facility policies, procedures, and practices and ensuring alignment with SSMC facilities policies br>
Completing and maintaining regulatory requirements including licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frames br>
Maintaining Confidentiality br>
Maintaining confidentiality with regards to any information exchanged or received in the current capacity of role in accordance with facility policy br>
Promoting Customer Service standards br>
Assuming the role of a brand ambassador for the facility and promoting a customer- focused philosophy in dealing with any stakeholders br>
Maintaining positive and effective working relationships within the department/division and also with other departments/sections within the facility br>
Performing any other duties as may be assigned relevant to the basic of the role br>
Participates in interdisciplinary teams and Performance Improvement Projects for evaluation and improvement of processes and clinical practice br>
Maintains contemporary knowledge of evidence-based practice relevant to the specialty br>
Acts as a professional role model with regard to self-development and selfaccountability by projecting the image of a self-directed learner and setting high personal work standards br>
Monitor clinical care to ensure clinical standards are met.
Identify variances and initiate corrective measures, and this information shall be used for educational and bedside teaching br>
Monitor staff performance, and provide regular constructive feedback, coaching guidance, and support to the team on the shift.
Provide staff performance feedback to the manager br>
Accountabilities br>
Maintains accurate records of educational activity and reports as required. br>
Supervises the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, evaluation of indicators, and reporting of outcomes and trends. br>
Initiates action and reports to the appropriate manager, when staff behavior and/or performance do not meet professional standards. br>
Demonstrates evidence of mandatory and unit-specific competencies completion, accredited and non-accredited Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Units based on DOH and organization requirements, and ongoing professional development in leadership and management. br>
