Main Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain high visibility in the assigned area(s) (90% clinical presence).
Ensure nursing staff comply with hospital infection control and safety protocols; act as a role model for best practices.
Develop educational strategies to address performance gaps in collaboration with Nursing Education and the Nurse Manager.
Ensure staff are educated on and comply with hospital policies to support safe patient care.
Act as a resource, mentor, coach, and role model in promoting evidence based practice.
Work at the bedside with nursing staff and students for a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week to validate consistent application of skills and knowledge.
Actively participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit based orientation and competency assessments.
Assist with the development and revision of policies and procedures, as required.
Demonstrate clinical competence in managing deteriorating patients.
Coordinate mandatory unit specific competencies and privileges.
Coordinate and participate in unit based mock drills, debriefs, and follow up actions.
Assist in developing and monitoring clinical indicators in the assigned area.
