Position Overview
Class 5 Driver responsible for delivering and picking up construction equipment from customer jobsites.
The role combines driving, equipment handling, customer communication, inspections, documentation, and equipment yard duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up construction equipment from customer jobsites.
- Load, unload, and secure equipment according to safe work procedures.
- Maintain delivery, pickup, inspection, regulatory log, and timesheet records.
- Perform vehicle inspections and check fuel, oil, and other fluid levels.
- Communicate delivery issues or schedule delays to supervisors and dispatch.
- Verify orders, document missing or damaged equipment, and obtain customer signatures.
- Provide basic instruction on safe equipment operation when necessary.
- Maintain the truck, yard, and wash bay; clean and detail returned equipment.
- Inspect returned equipment, report damage, and complete service tags.
- Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract and no more than three demerit points.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round and drive in varying weather and road conditions.
