Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
Produce new drawings from examples of previous projects and/or standards with some supervision
Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material
Calculate structure heights and weights, concrete volumes, equipment fit-up, or other basic tasks
Learn and properly use the document management system
Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices
Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work
Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party
Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments
Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
Associates degree in drafting & Design is required. Extensive experience in drafting disciplines with a background in civil / structural or transmission design is strongly preferred. Experience with AutoCAD 2010 or newer is required. Experience with Microstation or PLS-CADD is a plus.
Possess skills in the following areas:
Civil drafting experience for structural substation and transmission line projects is preferred
Word processing, spread sheet, and e-mail software
Mathematics, including algebra and basic trigonometry
Extensive knowledge of various CADD programs
Basic knowledge of the major components of a substation
Basic oral and written communications
Basic knowledge of the types of drawings required to construct an electrical substation
Working in a team environment
Communicating effectively with co-workers
