Job Title: Chief Mechanical Engineer – Rail Metro Projects

Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

This role requires to lead the engineering, design, and delivery of mechanical systems for Rail Metro Projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, quality requirements, safety regulations, budget targets, and project schedules while supporting efficient project execution and system integration.

Engineering Leadership

Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide technical guidance and review engineering deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.

Support project teams in achieving engineering and project objectives.

Design & Engineering Management

Oversee design, review, and approval of mechanical system deliverables.

Coordinate engineering activities related to Depot & Workshop Equipment, HVAC, Fire Protection Systems, Water Supply & Drainage, Lifts & Escalators, Ventilation Systems, and Building Services.

Ensure designs are safe, reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective.

Technical Coordination & Interface Management

Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Architectural, Signaling, Telecom, and System Engineering teams.

Manage multidisciplinary interfaces and resolve technical issues impacting project delivery.

Participate in design reviews and technical coordination meetings.

Project Execution Support

Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.

Review vendor submissions, material approvals, and technical specifications.

Support timely resolution of site-related engineering issues.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, quality procedures, and HSE requirements.

Promote engineering excellence and safe project execution practices.

Risk Management & Reporting

Identify engineering risks and implement mitigation measures.

Monitor engineering progress and provide technical status reports to project management.

Support lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience, Education and other Required:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Master's Degree is an advantage.

Overall 20-25 years of experience in Mechanical installation of Infrastructure Projects with minimum 10 years of experience In Metro Rail Traction Projects.

Minimum 8 years in a senior engineering leadership role.

Experience in Depot & Workshop Systems, HVAC, Fire Protection, Ventilation, and Building Services for Rail/Metro projects.

Technical Knowledge : HVAC & Tunnel Ventilation Systems, Fire Detection & Fire Protection Systems, Water Supply & Drainage Systems, Depot & Workshop Equipment=, Lifts & Escalators, Mechanical Building Services, Testing & Commissioning, Rail System Interfaces.

Preferred Industry Experience: Metro Rail, Railway Infrastructure, Urban Transit, High-Speed Rail, Transportation Infrastructure, and EPC Projects.
