Saint Paul College--A Community & Technical College has an exciting executive leadership opportunity for a: Chief Information Officer (CIO) Located in the heart of the capital city of St. Paul, MN, Saint Paul College is a regionally accredited community & technical college with over 14,600 credit and non-credit students. The College is a leader in student engagement, student-faculty interaction, student success, and equity and inclusion with a mission of providing learning opportunities in both career and transfer education to enhance personal knowledge and advance economic opportunities for the benefit of a diverse population of constituents. Saint Paul College is one of the most diverse institutions in Minnesota. The credit student population is comprised of 65% students of color, 63% first generation students and has an average age of 26. Saint Paul College is a comprehensive two-year institution and a member of the Minnesota State System. The College awards Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees, as well as, diplomas and certificate programs in liberal arts, fine arts, health sciences, STEM, business, engineering, and career & technical education programs. Numerous Business, Health, Manufacturing, and Service programs are nationally accredited, and the College has a long standing relationship with the Saint Paul Union Trades, labor councils, and their national affiliates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Chief Information Officer reports to the President and serves on the President's Cabinet team. The position leads the IT division and is responsible for developing and executing the IT Master Plan in support of all divisions and stakeholders of the college. The CIO is responsible for providing campus leadership, budget and infrastructure planning, communication and customer service strategies in the areas of administrative/instructional computing, media services, telephony, database management, application development, and web technologies. The CIO oversees 22 staff and directs a non-personnel budget of $1.2 million.
Required Qualifications
- The successful candidate should have an appropriate combination of education, training, and experience that includes: Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field; Five years' work experience in a leadership capacity, including at least three years of leadership experience; A strong commitment to innovative teaching and learning and to pursuing the potential of technology to support teaching, learning, and the delivery of instruction. Excellent oral and written communications, human relations skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, process improvement, analytical and problem solving skills, general management and supervisory skills; General knowledge of network planning and administration of Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Cisco routers, switches, and access points, classroom technology, content management systems, and telecommunications; General knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Office 365, SharePoint, SQL, and Windows server OSes; Knowledge of IT security tools and technologies; Knowledge of telephony systems; Knowledge of web-based service delivery; Computing service administration including management of problem identification and resolution, supervision of technical staff and quality improvement processes; Evaluation and application of technology to improve instructional processes and student learning; Evaluation and application of technology to improve student access to learning opportunities and essential services; Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people; Working knowledge of budget development and budget management processes; Ability to manage by building organizational talent, instilling strong customer service orientation and demonstrating good stewardship; Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with students, staff, professional colleagues and external constituents including non-profit community based organizations; Ability to promote and maintain an atmosphere that deters and responds to discrimination and sexual harassment in the work place; actively discouraging and disciplining behaviors that is discriminatory or harassing in nature; Ability to promote a safe working environment.

- Beginning Salary $82,734/annually - $132,378/annually depending on education and years of related experience.
