Overview
- Assist chefs in basic food preparation, including cutting, cleaning, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
- Support daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow during service.
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen helpers and stewards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
- Ensure proper washing, handling, and storage of utensils and kitchen tools.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines).
- Help in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries of food supplies.
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO) and minimize wastage.
- Assist in setting up kitchen stations before service and closing duties after service.
- Coordinate with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet service requirements on time.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues in the kitchen
